I’m a Beaver, You’re a Beaver – Neat & Tangled

This set had the Beaver camp song playing in my head and brought back fun memories of the very few but, happy times we camped as a family. I looked it up on You Tube and there was only one “genuine” Beaver camp song I could find. I threatened my husband that we may have to You Tube the song so it doesn’t become extinct!

A little masking and Copic coloring put this little beaver crew together. The dark days of winter have me longing for a bit of color so I kind of fell into the rainbow on this card.

and with that…Goodnight!!!

To Gnome Me is to Love Me – Flora & Fauna Clear

Another adorable set from Flora & Fauna Clear, this one with a little gnome and terrarium parts. Complete with little sign posts, sentiments and mushrooms.

This little guy comes alive with a little masking using stamping masking paper to make a mask covering the gnome so that you can easily stamp some greenery behind him. I chose to fussy cut the little sign and mount it outside the terrarium for something different.

A little forest green twine at the top of the terrarium finishes it off. A bit of holiday whimsy before the “busy ness” of the season.

Linking some of the supplies below for which I may receive some small bits of remuneration.

Cheers to a great week!

Happy Howl-idays! – Art Impressions

What could be better than “howling” with your dog friends? We were up for that and had a trip planned to visit friends at the Eastern Shore in Salisbury Maryland and show our dogs at these shows over a 5 day period. We howled, and enjoyed great meals together and did some winning.  So perfect image to play with today as this Art Impressions set was waiting for me when I got home.

Happy Howling

After stamping this cute image with Memento Tuxedo Black using my Misti, I colored the images with Copic Markers and popped it up using Scrapbook Adhesives dimensional foam squares. Oh, and those new Doodlebug papers! Used a soft teal green snowflake pattern from the Milk and Cookies pad for my background decorative paper. Sequins and the popped up sentiment on foam squares, attaching a bone image for the finish.

One exciting thing about this show was that we were able to have the entire litter of puppies together again, 14 plus months after they were born. Luna lives in Massachusetts and Faye in West Virginia and Lolly and Bravo in Anchorage, so for us it was so sweet to have them together again. We are so proud of this last breeding as the pups have all enjoyed wins this past week. Lolly finished her Championship, Luna picked up a major 4 point win as did Bravo and Faye competed to a Group 3 in the Bred By Exhibitor ring.

Like any paper crafter away from her studio though I was happy to get back to paper and ink. And, we brought back a few bugs. Many of us coughing and hacking and Bravo a special bug of his own. After his bath today, Rick found a tick at the base of his ear. Lolly’s dad came to his rescue and removed and treated it until we have a check up at the vet’s this week.

Winter Hearth – Hero Arts

In 1945, Bob Wells and Mel Torme wrote “The Christmas Song” you know the one, “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire” or as it was original titled,”Merry Christmas to You.” I may have started singing when putting this card together. Lol!

The set comes with die cuts for the hearth and the stocking. The fireplace has deeply embossed bricks that make it look so real!

Thin 3D foam squares lift the hearth off the paper just enough to give it a little depth.

Pigments in orange and red got the fire blazing and Copic markers added the color to my logs, and other images. The little stockings are so adorable! Milk and cookies finish off the hearth making it the cutest, warm wishes kind of card!

Thanks for visiting!

Mama Elephant,Uncategorized,Winter

Termination dust. That’s what Alaskan’s refer to as the first bits of snow showing up on the mountaintops. Those bits made their way covering our yard and driveway last weekend.

There’s a feeling, a cozy feeling that overcomes you when the snow covers the ground, it’s cold enough to put a sweater on, you don’t have to drive anywhere and you sit down with a warm cuppa and it’s quiet.

Trying to embrace that cozy feeling and getting me in the mood are these adorable critters from Mama Elephant.

Colored them up with Copic Markers and would you look at that gorgeous, sparkly snow!

Lawn Fawn glitter in both the Chunky and Prisma because when you can’t make up your mind, you just use both!
