CHRISTMAS IN JULY-Anita Jeram for Colorado Craft Company

Colorado Craft Company puts the MERRY in Christmas this July with the cutest critters from Anita Jeram’s illustrations. This latest release has everything you need for Christmas cards, tags and fun projects. The critters are certainly adorable but, the SENTIMENTS are AMAZING! So many fun quotes and perfect sentiments for Christmas and Holiday crafting.

Mice Ornaments (AJ832) Copic colored and nested on a white embossed 3C’s image Pine Swag (BB692). I love enhancing my copic coloring with colored pencil and “glittering!” This set has several cute sentiments that fit inside the large ornament.

Just Add Snow (AJ840) has the cutest snow bunnies ever! Made that snow glisten with glitter touches and a fun snowflake background die by Lawn Fawn. I loved all the sentiments in this set and nearly used them all!

I’ll be sharing more fun cards and projects from this Colorado Craft Company release on my Instagram and Facebook pages so follow me there!

Get Cracking on Christmas – Colorado Craft Company – Joy Ornaments

Maybe you’ve heard that quote attributed to Charles Dickens, “I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.” Makes it easy when you play along with #Getcrackingonchristmas thanks to Jenn Shurkus http://shurkus.com . Every 3rd Thursday of each month we celebrate by making a card or many in preparation for Christmas, so that by December you have at least 12 cards already made and ready to send!

Starting out right away with a simple, design with a little sparkle background and images from Colorado Craft Company http://www.coloradocraftcompany.com from the Joy Ornaments set.

I love the Alabaster White embossing powder from Brutus Monroe which looks so bright against the deep red of Lawn Fawn’s Barn Red card stock. Using Distress Ink in Aged Mahogany and Black Soot I deepened up the color a bit giving it an almost velvet look.

Mounted it on a piece of Pixie Dust Sparkle card stock again by Lawn Fawn, added some snow flake sequins by Lucy’s Little Things and this month’s card is done. Something nice about a design like this is that multiples are easy using your Misti or a stamp platform.

Adding some products below and substituted the snowflakes for some other sequin types that would work fine. If you shop the links below there is a small compensation given at NO cost to you. And, I always LOVE your comments and that you stopped by the blog!

Have a WONDERFUL New Year and keep Christmas in your heart!

XOXO

Holiday Hoopla

Lots of Hoopla and Merry Making at our last class of 2018 last Thursday! We met at our favorite off site location 12-100 Coffee & Communitas at 12100 Old Seward Highway, in Anchorage. There were 3 card designs and 6 tag designs using products from Lawn Fawn, Impression Obsession, Essentials by Ellen, Waffle Flower and Hero Arts.  Some kits are still available for the some of the tags and cards above.

Our shop will be open this next week in case you want to stop in for some essentials!

We had no earthquake damage to the studio other than a cabinet opening and my Canon SLR camera flying onto the floor and it survived!

I’m still amazed at how our little shop has come together this year. It’s truly been such a blessing to me reconnecting with friends and teaching classes again.

Cheers!

Happy Howl-idays! – Art Impressions

What could be better than “howling” with your dog friends? We were up for that and had a trip planned to visit friends at the Eastern Shore in Salisbury Maryland and show our dogs at these shows over a 5 day period. We howled, and enjoyed great meals together and did some winning.  So perfect image to play with today as this Art Impressions set was waiting for me when I got home.

Happy Howling

After stamping this cute image with Memento Tuxedo Black using my Misti, I colored the images with Copic Markers and popped it up using Scrapbook Adhesives dimensional foam squares. Oh, and those new Doodlebug papers! Used a soft teal green snowflake pattern from the Milk and Cookies pad for my background decorative paper. Sequins and the popped up sentiment on foam squares, attaching a bone image for the finish.

One exciting thing about this show was that we were able to have the entire litter of puppies together again, 14 plus months after they were born. Luna lives in Massachusetts and Faye in West Virginia and Lolly and Bravo in Anchorage, so for us it was so sweet to have them together again. We are so proud of this last breeding as the pups have all enjoyed wins this past week. Lolly finished her Championship, Luna picked up a major 4 point win as did Bravo and Faye competed to a Group 3 in the Bred By Exhibitor ring.

Like any paper crafter away from her studio though I was happy to get back to paper and ink. And, we brought back a few bugs. Many of us coughing and hacking and Bravo a special bug of his own. After his bath today, Rick found a tick at the base of his ear. Lolly’s dad came to his rescue and removed and treated it until we have a check up at the vet’s this week.
