Thank You!

Give Thanks!

In all things, giving thanks! As I look back on the past several months it’s as if time was on hyper speed filled with good things, hard things and challenging things, all good. Even the hard and challenging things being good, bringing about what needs to be in me.

I have three loves in this world besides Jesus, my husband, children and our dogs. I love breeding and showing Silky Terriers, playing my flute and making card art. No particular order of favor here, as when I am enjoying one, I’m often thinking of the other.

In May, after returning from the Silky Terrier National Specialty in Albuquerque, (yes, we have dog shows just for Silky’s) we stopped off in Seattle for a visit with my sisters and family and my annual check up with Evergreen Cardiology. Thankful for another uneventful visit there and good test results. Then back home to drive to Fairbanks for a four day dog show where a bungie cord snapped, hitting my face, breaking my glasses and sparing my eye! Back home in time for jury duty. Federal jury duty, drugs, guns and convictions kind of jury duty. Then a visit from our daughter and two year old granddaughter and then another dog show. Are you tired yet?

And at the same time, I have many of the Summer Lawn Fawn release products in my little shop with fun card samples. Which brings me to my latest cards. Trying out some cute images from Ink Blot Shop! The Silky pup is Copic colored and from the Playful Pups set. The die cut sentiment is from a die that is a favorite from sometime ago. Lawn Fawn papers.

This card was made as a thank you for a judge that recently awarded our dog, CH Arcticsilk Standing Ovation “Bravo” a group placement.

Another “Alaskan” style card for Judge Carolyn Herbel for awarding our CH.(pending AKC) Arcticsilk Standing Ovation “Bravo” a TOY GROUP WIN!

Impression Obsession for the Mountain die cut and Penny Black for the Give Thanks die. Tim Holtz blended Distress Oxide inks and Tonic Nuvo Glitter paste for the sparkle!

This glittery artsy Thank You card goes to judge Carolyn Herbel who displayed both “mercy & grace” awarding our CH. Arcticsilk Standing Ovation “Bravo” the TOY Group WIN at the Alaska Kennel Club Dog Show on Sunday, June 16, 2019. It came as such a shock as I had missed the call for the TOY Group ring, grooming away and thinking I had more time than I had. When asked by the Ring Steward if I was allowed to enter the ring, Mrs. Herbel instructed me to enter the ring and take my dog around. I sheepishly did so and fell in line. When it was our turn for examination she did so thoroughly and as if nothing was a bit awry. As judge Herbel made her final pass through a beautiful line up of Toy dogs she pointed directly at me and said “One.” That was grace, a gift! Thankfully, she judged the dog and didn’t hold my sins against Bravo, for as she said, “He is lovely.”
