Brutus Monroe,Valentine's Day

Brutus Monroe – Hugs & Kisses

It’s cold (Brr!) and dark (today 6 hours and 41 minutes of daylight) so last week when it was even colder and darker, I did a little shopping online.

Dark winter days that look more like nights.

This cute set, “Lots of Love,” from Brutus Monroe ended up in my shopping cart along with a package of the paper, “Its Not Your Mama’s Cardstock.” A few other shopping stops made it easier to not think about the weather!

Last week Online Card Classes featured a class with Kathy Racoosin, “The Coloring Challenge Road Trip, Online Version.” It was fun to look forward to and the same day my order from Brutus Monroe arrived. So as I learned to change things up with my markers, adding colored pencil detail etc., I practiced on my brand new set “Lots of Love.” Of course, I chose the puppy and hearts one. The set also includes a kitty, unicorn and bird images.

One of the shopping stops included Simon Says Stamp and I couldn’t resist the “Tumbling Hearts” stencil. Makes a fun background for my image that I backed with Hero Arts Heart dies.

Thank you for stopping by, your sweet comments are the sunshine to my days! Links to products provided below. Shopping the Ellen Hutson links below allow a small compensation (at no cost to you) that help offset my blog costs, so thank you!

Get Cracking’ on Christmas!

I LOVE making Christmas cards, so when my friend, Jenn Shurkus asked me if I wanted to participate, I was IN!

@shurkus.com

It seems that there are SO many fun products out around the “Holidays” and less time to work up the designs that are floating in my head, so some of my stamp and die sets don’t get the attention they deserve! Jenn and Chari thought the same! That’s how “Get Cracking,” got cracking!

I call it “Dream time.” Time that I like to just “Ponder the Possibilities” of what each stamp or die is telling me. During the Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah season there isn’t a lot of dream time.

I’ve been dreaming about Alcohol Inks and after spending precious days, during Christmas with family, my order of Silver Sparkle paper arrived and this happened.

Alcohol Ink on Ranger Siver Sparkle paper

The Silver Sparkle paper by Ranger will make anything magical, perfect for Alcohol Inks only enhanced by any alcohol ink you toss at it! And then, I embossed it with a Sizzix 3D Textured Impressions embossing folder. Kind of “gilding the lily” but, was so glad I did! No secret that I fell in love with Simon Says Stamps, “Holly and Pine Frame,.” It’s a favorite! An easy sentiment from Taylored Expressions finishes this wintery card. But, any wintery sentiment would be perfect. Product list below has other Snowflakes available at Ellen Hutson that will have a similar look.

Have another peek at this amazing alcohol ink background with that Silver Sparkle paper!

Now, go treat yourself and buy some! It’s AMAZING!

Thank you for stopping by! See you next time! And, yes, if you shop my links (below) I receive a little compensation. It helps to offset my blog costs and bring more fun content your way. But, mostly I just love you stopped by!

Cheers!
