Get Cracking-Vintage Memories

Simple pleasures of Christmas past like pink rabbit fur muffs and matching hats. Memories of crisp winter days, visits with Santa and pictures. Memories of trees with lights, Shiny Bright ornaments and tinsel that had to be placed just so.

Christmas Memories

Happy to join Jenn Shurkus and her feature “Get Cracking on Christmas.” This months card features products by Tim Holtz, Ranger, Stampers Anonymous and a fabulous 3D embossing folder by Sizzix.

Fired Brick, Aged Mahogany, Hickory Smoke and touches of Black Soot help create the aged brick background using the Sizzix 3D Texture Fade embossing folder. Using a light spray of water, with my Tim Holtz spray bottle, before embossing, gives the best result.

Idealogy Christmas Dolls includes this adorable little girl with her winter muff and hat. Using Distress Glaze in Tattered Rose was perfect to create that pink, rabbit fur look we remember from those winter days long ago.

The “wreath” image is from the Stampers Anonymous “Festive Overlay” set which includes six (6) great images featuring a Santa, reindeer, wreath, sled, bird and holly along with many great sentiments. The red, rubber cling stamps are perfect for cards, tags and Holiday projects.

Hoping this Vintage card gives you inspiration to “Get Cracking” on your own Holiday projects ahead of the busy Christmas season. When posting on Instagram use the #getcrackingonchristmas hashtag or if posting on Jenn Shurkus blog leave a comment and a link to your card. Jenn offers a prize each month to those participating!
