You’re S’whale! – Essentials by Ellen & Memory Box

Having always lived by the ocean it’s easy to fall in love with sea and marine themed art or images. Essentials by Ellen release S’whale had me with the whales and all the “salty” sentiments! Pairing the Whale and Ocean Swell dies were just easy as if they were meant to be together.

Watercoloring sea images is so fun with boundless colors in nature, anything goes!

Using dimensional tape or fun foam adds to the ocean depth look that I love. So many fun sentiments in the S’whale set it was difficult to choose which one to use!

Another little close up. See how I stuck the whale under the little fish, there.  Fishing buddies.

Have a great weekend!

Birthday,Mama Elephant

Celebrating YOU! – Mama Elephant

Cloudy here but, sun is shining through on these adorable critters! Our son-in-law is celebrating his birthday vacationing  in sunny Florida today and we are thinking we are pretty fortunate to have him in our family! These cute sets by Mama Elephant stole my heart and I thought they were perfect for this card today.

Making clouds is so fun with the MFTStamps Cloud Stencil, I could have just kept making clouds all the way down my card.  Sun beams were easy with the MFTStamps Radiating Rays stencil and grass was just a  wee bit of mowed lawn brushed up against some masking tape.

A “TWO-FER” today with another Mama Elephant card I made the other day. This one using the cute little Tea With Friends bunny and her kitty friend.

I love using embossing folders with die cuts. Always remember make your die cut FIRST! If you run your embossing folder through your machine after you have embossed it, it will squish out all your lovely embossing!

Speaking of embossing. You know those awesome 3D type embossing folders? I have a couple of them and used one on a card I made the other day in my AWESOME, BRAND SPANKING NEW GEMINI JUNIOR. I’m pretty sure I had my sandwich wonky. It was too thick. Uh-huh. Broke the machine. Read and re-read the manual. Just because you are certified to drive your BIG SHOT does not necessarily give you the skills to operate your Gemini even if you read your manual. Not all embossing folders are the same! Be careful! That Gemini Junior machine is awesome and mine is off for repairs!

Memory Box

Thinking of Mother’s Day – Memory Box

Quite a bit early for “Mother’s Day,” but what I have to share today since a trip to Seattle had me stopping in at Impress Cards and Crafts in Tukwilla. Working on new designs for a large order of custom cards for Bagoys Florists. So many beautiful floral die images from Memory Box available now.  This was one I picked up.

That glittery “washi” tape caught my eye and if I would have known how wonderful it was I would have bought it in every color! Also have loved my “Fresh Ink” pigment inks ( used a dauber to color the die cut) that I have been collecting over the past year but, bought a duplicate so look for a giveaway soon!

Doodlebug papers in Spring colors wouldn’t let me leave without taking them with, so I used them as accents on the side border.

It’s a very clean and simple card design with the sentiment white embossed on MFTStamps, “Sour Apple” card stock.
