Coasting Into Summer – Lawn Fawn

Loving all the new Lawn Fawn products from their latest release. Creating this happy pop up card with the new Coaster Critters set was super fun to color and so easy to put together. Want to slip a smile into someone’s mailbox?

Send them a card like this! Just so cute!

This is the outside part of the card. Looks like they are on their way to the amusement park! And, here is the inside, where all the fun is happening!

Lawn Fawn has done it again, coming up with so many cute and adorable sets. I am smitten with all of them. I’ve been working hard to get my new studio classroom ready for teaching soon. Thinking this will be one of the cards to make!

We have been a little distracted this weekend by a Mama Moose and her baby that spent a couple of nights outside in our yard. It became way too exciting however, when a black bear came to call. Mama Moose had her hackles up and went on the attack fending off the bear that had set sites on taking her little baby. Several neighbors were involved yelling, making noise and had one neighbor slinging  the baby moose around his shoulders ,who had been separated from the Mama during the fight. All ended well, my husband put out a bucket of fresh water for Mama Moose who brought her baby back to their resting place and spent another night.

Birthday,Essentials by Ellen

By the Sea – Alexandra RENKE

A “One Layer Wonder,” and lots of white space are my favorite types of cards to make. These Sea themed images by Alexandra RENKE are just perfect for my sea-loving friend having a birthday. Ellen Hutson LLC recently added these to the shop and I was excited to put some cards together. After coming up with the single layer design, making the card was a breeze.

One way to begin a center design (leaving lots of white space) is by taping off the 4.25 x 5.5″ card with purple tape or some easy to remove tape. In this case, I decided to cut a mask by using my nesting rectangle dies by HERO ARTS. Placing that “frame” on top of my card stock I stamped my boat, cut a little mask for my boat, then stamped my waves. Distress ink in Fossilized Amber provided a little swoosh of sunshine on the edge. The sentiment, “SEAS the DAY,” part of the Essentials by Ellen “Mermaid’s Tail, designed by Julie Ebersole, was the perfect size to fit within my space. By stamping the sentiment in Broken China Distress Oxide I was able to add clear embossing powder for a little shine. Wink of Stella in clear added a little glimmer to my sea.

It’s always tricky to catch a bit of shimmer in a photo but, you can see it here, a bit.

I had Sea themed fun on my mind today, booking a fishing trip for 5 girlfriends to fish for Red’s on the Kenai River this summer! I love showing a bit of Alaska to friends from the “lower 48.” I can hardly wait!

Essentials by Ellen

Essentials by Ellen – New Release Available NOW!

Always excited about a new stamp and die release from Essentials by Ellen! My favorite is another fun addition to the MONDO theme with the Mondo Sakura set by Julie Ebersole. This beautiful cherry blossom image is no doubt influenced by her recent trip to Japan. Such delicate artwork and a versatile image, perfect for any occasion. Finally able to share the cards that I was sneaking peeks of the last few days.

Had to give the Hero Arts liquid watercolors a try as they had been on my “splurge” list for a while. I love the colors! The “beautiful” font is a die cut that comes with the Mondo Sakura designer dies. I stacked several to give it some dimension.

In this next card I white embossed the sakura image on 40 lb vellum and die cut it with the matching die.

Love the look of vellum with these flowers, almost life like. The “Hello” die is from the BLOCK WORDS designer die set. Such a perfect size to pair with images or even as a stand alone with other embellishments.

And, just in time for a teacher thank you or graduation gift card…the PARCEL BOX!

This little box easily fits in or on a card and holds a gift card perfectly. The set offers different closure options along with a tiny bow, banner and tags. This one made up as a senior grad gift.

Thanks for celebrating this fun release and spending a few minutes with me! I appreciate all your hearts, likes and comments on my Instagram and Facebook feeds!
